Before beginning the design process I had to analyse the site. And not just in terms of sun paths, traffic levels, sound pollution, etc. I decided to look into the direction people will view the site. This is mostly from the street access, from the riverside walkway and from the ferries moving along the river. While the entire facade of the design is important, these views represent the first impression someone will have with the building.
The other thing that has to be considered is the proximity of stores, entertainment and other public spaces in relation to the site. If there is a lack of one of these spaces, it gives the opportunity to add a space that will attract the local population.
